Before you start.

The BitLocker encryption requires a couple of prerequisites on HOME edition, and the AlertSec application will automatically check if your computer has the minimum settings.

IF your computer fails the check, you can still get your PC encrypted.

#1. You can upgrade your TPM chip.
(search online for “update TPM to 2.0” + your PC brand, and you will find update instructions from your PC manufacturer.

If it is not possible to update your TPM chip, you can instead;

#2. Upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11 PRO.
AlertSec BitLocker installation for PRO does NOT require a TPM chip, so if you have PRO installed, the prerequisites required for HOME will no longer apply.

Web account

Your web account lets you manage the AlertSec service. The dashboard allows you to manage your subscription in order to add/delete devices, change the service package and more.

Add more computers

You can add up to three (3) computers per account. Just access the download section on your web account from the computer you’d  like to encrypt. Deploying computer security to additional computers just takes a few clicks.

  • Log in to your web account from the computer you’d like to install on.
  • Click the “Download” button on the Download page.
  • Choose the package you need for this computer and click “Install”.

Installation

The AlertSec installation of BitLocker can be done without any technical knowledge. All instructions are shown during the step-by-step installation.

Monitor

You can follow the deployment progress from your web account. The web account gives you full visibility and traceability. The deployment status of each computer is presented on the dashboard.

Compliance and reporting

In order for you to prove that your computers are encrypted, there are audit reports generated monthly by the system. It’s also possible to generate specific compliance reports at any time, providing the information needed for HIPAAGDPRPCI, SOX and 23 NYCRR 500 requirements. This is only available for customers with an upgraded service package (Audit and Assisted).
